We have discovered lately, that our own back yard has become the source of much amusement and entertainment. My father, who is 92 years old, made this great bird feeder for me. Did I say bird feeder? So far, the squirrels have made us laugh the most. We have noticed a large number of birds visiting our home such as Cardinals, Blue Jays, Finches, Carolina Chickadees, common black birds, and my favorite the Golden Breasted Woodpecker.

I never thought of myself as a bird watcher until my sister and I started watching the live streaming video cam of the Bald Eagles nest in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, VA. The eaglets there are now juveniles and have fledged from the nest. You might see them in the area on the cam though.
THEN, we found the Peregrine Falcons at the Great River Energy’s Elk River Station in Maple Grove, MN. What amazing birds! The four young chicks have been banded and are getting in their adult feathers.
Pictures below are from last year but are an example of what you can see.
It's live, free and so entertaining to watch!

The camera went down for maintenance on June 17th and will be back up soon.
Thanks for stopping by!
